Nagayoshi Ôdachi

This Ôdachi was made by Nagayoshi in 1366, during the Nambokuchô era (1336 - 1392).  

Nagayoshi Ôdachi

Mei (name): Senjuin Nagayoshi. 

Location: Ôyamazumi Jinja, Ehime.

Period: Nambokuchô (1336 - 1392).

 

This Ôdachi has a nagasa (cutting edge) of 135.6 cm and sori (curvature) of 4.9 cm.

The width of the blade at the base is 7.2 cm and the width near the tip is 3.0 cm.

The kissaki is 6.8 cm long.

It was made by Nagayoshi in Yamoto Province (present day Nara Prefecture).
